Conducting

A member of the Royal Philharmonic Society of Women Conductors, Elizabeth trained under conductors such as Alice Farnham and Martyn Brabbins and has earned a reputation for herself as an orchestral conductor in the London and South East region. Aside from her permanent conducting positions with the London Pop-Up Orchestra, Bexley Youth Orchestra, Camden Philharmonia Orchestra and Belvedere Concert Band, Elizabeth has also worked extensively with other local ensembles including Dartford Symphony Orchestra, Lydian Orchestra, North Downs Sinfonia and Wealden Orchestra, whilst previous permanent appointments included both the British Clarinet Ensemble and the East Anglian Single Reed Choir. A keen advocate for the promotion of local community music-making opportunities, Elizabeth is also involved in running a number of beginner bands and orchestras for children in different areas across London, and runs a number of children's choral schemes in disadvantaged areas.

Belvedere Concert Band

Hailed as being one of the South East's premier concert bands, Belvedere Concert Band generally perform at least six concerts a year from charity fundraisers to bandstand concerts, including an annual Remembrance service with the East Wickham and Welling Memorial Trust attended by local MPs. Last year they performed at locations such as the Orchard Theatre in Dartford and Regents Park.

London Pop-Up Orchestra

The London Pop-Up Orchestra was formed in 2022 to provide an opportunity to rehearse and perform exciting, 'bucket-list' works for its members with a low-budget and low-commitment model. We're always recruiting, so get in touch if you'd like to get involved!

Camden Philharmonia

Camden Philharmonia are a friendly and social amateur London orchestra near the West End, NW1. They play to a high standard with the help of excellent professionals, specifically Liz Worth (conductor), Hannah Garty (orchestra leader), Dominic Wolfendale (principal violist) and guest soloists.

For this purpose, they were formed by Abigail Dance and Kwesi Edman in 2008 with the goal of continuing to develop adult amateur players’ technique and instil the finer points of playing in an ensemble.

Above all, they have an inclusive, participatory culture.  That is to say the orchestra is run by members for the benefit and, most importantly, the enjoyment of members.
